Jess Moskaluke may have 3 female artist of the year awards from the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA), a CCMA for Album of the Year, and a Juno Award for Country Album of the Year, but she has just received her very first number 1 song at Canadian country radio for her latest single “Country Girls”.

This incredibly talented country artist has had so many fantastic singles that we were surprised that this was her very first number 1 song. It seems to us as though she should have had a handful by now with all the great songs she has released. But, “Country Girls” has been performing well at the charts and has earned Jess the most coveted spot on the charts.

Jess published a lengthy post to Instagram when the news dropped about “Country Girls” going #1.

This is a big one. #1. My FIRST #1. Whoa. ? When you achieve a goal that you’d always thought was impossible, it’s tough to know what to feel. I feel like I have SO much to say, SO many to thank, and yet at the same time, I somehow feel completely speechless. And I’m shaking as I write this, haha. Buckle up, y’all this ain’t a short one. ? First of all, THANK YOU TO CANADIAN RADIO for believing in not just #CountryGirls, but ALL of my music I’ve ever released to country radio over the years. Watching you guys rally together to support your own artists has always given me the warmest fuzzies and made me feel so proud to be a part of this industry. It’s SUCH a good time for Canadian music, and I hope this trend continues! ? Also, thank you to my team who works THE hardest. We may be small, but there’s never been better proof that if your heart is in the right place and you’re willing to work your ass off, you really can achieve our goals no matter how far away they may seem. ? To the writers Corey and Emily- you guys know how much I love you! This is the “OG Jess Moskaluke writing team” and it couldn’t happen to or with better people. Thank you for helping me write my first chart topper- let’s do this again RIGHT now!!! ?? To everyone requesting, listening, streaming, watching, and singing this song- KEEP doing it. I love you for it more than you’ll EVER know, and I can’t wait to play this one for you live and celebrate this with you on the road! ??‍? I think it’s really important to note that this didn’t come easy. It didn’t come without many doubts, highs and lows, and it definitely didn’t come overnight. I’m 10+ years into this career, 17 radio singles released, 5 albums deep, and the timing couldn’t possibly be any more perfect than right now. I am one damn lucky Country Girl. ? #1 #first #one #canadian #canadiancountry #canadiancountryradio #countrymusic #thankyou #jessmoskaluke

Lyrics to “Country Girls” by Jess Moskaluke

Maybe it’s the fact we grew up
Wilder than a field of horses
Or the way we can rise with the sun
And still rock till 2 in the morning

Yeah, if you wonder where
Them down home boys will be
It ain’t no mystery

If you’re looking for bees just go find honey
If you’re looking for rich folks, go find money, oh, oh
It’s the same all around the world
Country boys love country girls
(Country boys love country girls)
(Country boys love country girls)

Maybe it’s the way we can hang
Drink-for-drink with the guys at the dive bar
Or the way our kisses taste strawberry wine sweet
That makes ’em wanna be wherever we are

If you’re looking for bees just go find honey
If you’re looking for rich folks, go find money, oh, oh
It’s the same all around the world
Country boys love country girls

Like a moth into a fire
It’s just a natural desire, oh, oh
It’s the same all around the world
Country boys love country girls

Yeah, if you wonder where
Them down home boys will be
It ain’t no mystery

If you’re looking for bees just go find honey
If you’re looking for rich folks, go find money, oh, oh
It’s the same all around the world
Country boys love country girls

It don’t matter what we’re wearin’
Yeah, when we’re dancin’ they’ll be starin’, oh, oh
It’s the same all around the world
Country boys love country girls

(Country boys love country girls)
(Country boys love country girls)
(Country boys love country girls)
(Country boys love country girls)

In country music, the Front Porch has long been a place of reflection. A place where you can look at the life you have inside that front door. A place where time almost seems to stand still, where you can get away. It’s also a place where you can go to observe the world as it passes by you. To think about your place out there beyond the driveway.
