One of the best things is to discover new artists to fall in love with. It’s what we love most at Front Porch Music. Rodney Slade is one of those emerging artist. We’re excited to introduce you to his debut single “If Then Was Now”.
“If Then Was Now” is a great song that perfectly introduces us to Rodney’s voice, style, and lyrics. The song starts with a chill vibe that is enhanced when the vocals come in.
“‘If Then Was Now’ is inspired from being in a very dark place,” Rodney says. “and coming out of it with full power behind me to keep myself in a good head space to live life without limitations … Of course, there is some creative license taken with the premise but that’s where the song started.”
“My producer, Peter Daniel Newman, and I wrote the song drawing from both Dallas Smith and the Irish band Picture This,” he said. “He created the arrangement and we were lucky enough to have some killer Nashville session players jump in. They’ve played on records for Kelsea Ballerini, Maren Morris, Chris Stapleton, Jason Aldean and Sam Hunt. I was stoked with the results”
The result is a fantastic song that conveys a powerful emotion and showcases Rodney’s ability to tell a story through song.
It’s really exciting to hear such a great sound from Canada’s East Coast, and I can’t wait to hear what’s next for Rodney.
Be sure to stream “If Then Was Now” on Apple Music and Spotify.
