Finally… we have a week where the top Canadian country singles doesn’t include Brett Kissel’s We Were That Song. It’s a great song, but it’s SO exciting to see some new artists in the top spots for music sales, including Tenille Arts Moment of Weakness.
The top selling Canadian singles for this week are so exciting. There’s a few encores from last week’s list, but the newcomers are very exciting and unique.
Tenille Arts – Moment of Weakness
Earlier this week, this song from Tenille Arts was featured on the hit show The Bachelor. This is the reason for the spike in sales, and landing her the top spot for best selling single for the week. She definitely deserves a rose for this single, and for landing this success. Way to go girl!
Aaron Goodvin – Lonely Drum
Another successful week for our guy Aaron Goodvin. Lonely Drum is a great upbeat song that sounds awesome in the mix on the radio that is largely ballads and slower-paced songs during the winter. We wonder if this song would have performed as well if it were released in the Summer months… hmm.
Meghan Patrick – Country Music Made Me Do It
This latest track from Meghan Patrick, Country Music Made Me Do It, is the title track from her latest album, and is in the list of top selling singles for a Canadian country artist for a third week in a row. Check out the music video for this great song.
Leaving Thomas – Blame it on the Neon
This is the single of the week that we are most excited about. Leaving Thomas is one of the most unique and exciting groups to come out of Canadian country music in a long time! The tone and raspiness from Annika is unreal. This song is on repeat right now up here on the Front Porch. Have a listen for yourself with this music video (mind the acting at the beginning and end of the video… you know how we feel about acting in music videos).
James Barker Band – Good Together
This is the latest release from Canadian group James Barker Band. Since being released to country radio 3 weeks ago, it has quickly become one of the top selling singles in country music. It’s crazy that Good Together is already one of Canada’s top selling singles. Take a listen to this new one on our Spotify playlist (player below) – You’ll love it!
These top 4 Canadian country songs for the week have been added to the Top Canadian Country Music playlist on Spotify. Subscribe to this playlist, it gets updated every week with top Canadian country songs – both in sales and in radio airplay.
The data for the top selling songs in Canada comes from Neilson SoundScan.
In country music, the Front Porch has long been a place of reflection. A place where you can look at the life you have inside that front door. A place where time almost seems to stand still, where you can get away. It’s also a place where you can go to observe the world as it passes by you. To think about your place out there beyond the driveway.
