Top Canadian Country Songs – January 2 to 8, 2018

What a great week for Canadian country music (but aren’t they all?). One of the top songs of the week is a bit of a blast from the past. Shania is on the charts with the third top selling song Man! I Feel Like a Woman.

We aren’t too sure why this song made a comeback this week, but it could have something to do with this week’s start of The Launch TV show that Shania is starring in. Either way, whatever the reason, it’s pretty great to see this song back on the charts 20 years after its release – yes… TWENTY years.

Here are the top sales for a Canadian country single this week.

1. Brett Kissel – We Were That Song

This song by Brett Kissel has been dominating the country charts in Canada for the last few months. It’s no real surprise, it’s definitely one of his strongest songs with a really catchy hook.

2. Aaron Goodvin – Lonely Drum

This one from Aaron Goodvin is another song that has been on the charts for quite some time. This song really makes you want to crack a beer and sit back – the beat leaves you longing for Summer to come back.

Shania Twain – Man! I Feel Like a Woman

This song requires absolutely no introduction. Arguably one of Shania Twain’s most iconic songs and music videos, Man! I Feel Like a Woman finds its way back on the charts at the start of 2018. Not sure why, but we aren’t complaining!

These top three songs have been added to the Top Canadian Country Music playlist on Spotify. Subscribe to this playlist, it gets updated every week with top Canadian country songs – both in sales and in radio airplay.

About the author

Front Porch

In country music, the Front Porch has long been a place of reflection. A place where you can look at the life you have inside that front door. A place where time almost seems to stand still, where you can get away. It’s also a place where you can go to observe the world as it passes by you. To think about your place out there beyond the driveway.
