Canada’s latest emerging artist has officially been crowned! Canadian country artist David Boyd Janes was one of the competitors at the popular Emerging Artist Showcase at this year’s Boots & Hearts Music Festival, and was awarded the title of the official emerging artist.
It’s a big week for Canadian country singer-songwriter Jessica Mitchell. Her incredible single “Workin’ on Whiskey” has been recorded by country music legend Trisha Yearwood, and released to country radio.
On July 27th, 2019 Meghan Patrick had the opportunity to headline a music festival called Hagersville Rocks in a small town called Hagersville, ON not too far from Brantford. During her set, someone from the crowd yelled sexist remarks which resulted in Meghan stopping her performance to call this man out.
The Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) announced its full list of nominees for the 2019 CCMA Awards presented by TD. This year’s awards will be broadcast live from Calgary, Alberta on Sunday September 8th.
This past weekend marked the 2019 CMA Ontario awards in Ottawa at the National Arts Centre. The night, hosted by Jason McCoy, was filled with celebrations of great country music from Ontario.
