Everyone’s favourite Canadian country artist Dallas Smith will be playing this year’s Cavendish Beach Music Festival. Blanco Brown may seem like a bit of an odd choice of a performer for the biggest country music festival in Canada’s East Coast. But, earlier this year, he released a single called “The Git Up”. It’s a song that took the Internet by storm. Brown posted a YouTube video with country artist Lainey Wilson to teach people how to do the song’s dance. “The Git Up” Challenge has increased in popularity since the video was released and has been featured in over 130,000 videos on TikTok. In country music, the Front Porch has long been a place of reflection. A place where you can look at the life you have inside that front door. A place where time almost seems to stand still, where you can get away. It’s also a place where you can go to observe the world as it passes by you. To think about your place out there beyond the driveway.
