The nominees for the 2024 CCMA Awards

The Canadian Country Music Association® (CCMA®) has officially announced the nominees for the 2024 CCMA Awards, presented by TD.

This year’s event is particularly special as it returns to Edmonton for the first time in a decade, marking its eighth time in the city.

Tickets for this year’s awards show are on sale now.

A Star-Studded Hosting Duo

Hosting the 2024 CCMA Awards will be none other than Thomas Rhett, an 8-time ACM and 2-time CMA Award winner with 16 No.1 hits on Canadian country radio, and MacKenzie Porter, a 2-time CCMA Award winner and global chart-topping Canadian country star and actor.

The event promises to be a night to remember, broadcasting live from Rogers Place in downtown Edmonton on Saturday, September 14, at 8:00 p.m. ET. You can catch all the action on CTV, CTV.ca, and the CTV app. Be sure to check CTV.ca for local broadcast times.

Leading the Pack

This year, Jade Eagleson and MacKenzie Porter lead the nominations with six each. Jade Eagleson is up for Entertainer of the Year, Ford F-150 Album of the Year, Fans’ Choice, Male Artist of the Year, Single of the Year, and Songwriter(s) of the Year.

Meanwhile, MacKenzie Porter has been nominated for Entertainer of the Year, Ford F-150 Album of the Year, Fans’ Choice, Female Artist of the Year, Single of the Year, and Video of the Year.

The Reklaws and Josh Ross are not far behind, each securing five nominations. The Reklaws are in the running for Entertainer of the Year, Fans’ Choice, Group or Duo of the Year, Musical Collaboration of the Year, and Video of the Year. Josh Ross is vying for Entertainer of the Year, Ford F-150 Album of the Year, Fans’ Choice, Male Artist of the Year, and Single of the Year.

This marks Edmonton’s eighth time hosting the event, after last being the host city in 2013 and 2014. This year’s show will be at Rogers Place on September 14, 2024, aired live on CTV, CTV.ca, and the CTV app.

Lindsay Ell to Receive 2024 Gary Slaight Music Humanitarian Award

The Canadian Country Music Association® (CCMA®) has announced Lindsay Ell as the 2024 recipient of the Gary Slaight Music Humanitarian Award. This prestigious award honours Ell for her exceptional contributions through The Make You Movement, a charitable fund she established to support survivors of sexual trauma and domestic abuse. The award also recognizes her advocacy for sexual assault survivors and the LGBTQ2SIA+ community.

Ell, a multiple CCMA Award winner and Platinum-certified artist, expressed pride in her work with The Make You Movement and gratitude towards the Slaight Family and CCMA for inspiring such impactful community efforts. Her dedication extends to various organizations, including the Nashville Sexual Assault Centre and Rainbow Railroad, showcasing her commitment to using her platform for positive change.
