Dylan Burk Connects with Fans at Boots & Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase

Dylan Burk was one of the finalists at the Boots & Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase

Dylan Burk was one of the competitors at this year’s emerging artist showcase at Boots & Hearts Music Festival presented by #ChevyMusic. He delighted the crowd during his set, and took time to personally say hello to as many people in the crowd as possible.

Dylan Burk may be an emerging artist, but he has a pretty strong following of loyal fans and makes a heavy effort to connect with them consistently on social media. It wasn’t much of a surprise to see so many people in the crowd of the showcase singing along with his single “Looking Like That”.

About Dylan Burk

Dylan Burk has an interesting story. He was born in Knoxville, Tennessee but moved to Canada when he was about 2 years old. His father was a Canadian hockey player playing for the Knoxville Cherokee’s when he met his mom in Michigan. The two started a family during this time, and eventually moved back to Canada once his father’s hockey career finished.

Now living in Milton, Ontario Dylan is inching closer to his dream of doing music full-time. It’s ironic that Dylan comes from a city only a few hours away from Nashville, the mecca of country music, and is now pursuing a career in country music. Funny how the world works like that!

Dylan’s Performance at the Boots & Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase

His set was really strong. It was a perfect mix of covers to pump up the audience, and original music to showcase his talent to the panel of judges.  He walked out on the stage, with an enormous smile and sporting a wicked Canadian tuxedo. His performance was high energy. You could tell that he was having the time of his life performing in front of an excited crowd at Canada’s biggest festival. That smile that he had across his face when he walked on the stage never left his face throughout the entire performance.

“I’ve wanted to do this for so long,” Dylan Explains. “I’ve played a big stage before and got to open for James Barker Band, Eric Ethridge and Leah Daniels, and that was a great time. But there’s something about this crowd – especially at Boots & Hearts. So many people were there and the crowd reaction was fantastic. It just put a big smile on my face. Especially doing something I love.”

After his performance, Dylan could be found in the crowd connecting with his fans, hugging, shaking hands, and taking pictures. This was a huge deal. He was one of the only artists who made a conscientious effort to connect with people after his set. We had the chance to connect with him and asked why it was so important to meet his fans.

“I’m really big on that,” he says. “For me, it’s such a great thing that people want to come take a picture with me, it’s such a great feeling. Growing up there were so many opportunities where I would have loved to get a picture with somebody and they just said they didn’t have the time for me. So after every show I always make time to go out there and just say hi to everyone.

This gratitude he has for his fans is palpable. It’s clear that he doesn’t take these moments for granted.

What’s next for Dylan Burk?

Once the dust settles on his performance at the Boots & Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase, Dylan is going to have a really busy end to 2019 touring throughout the GTA, and will be headlining a BrewFest in Kapuskasing, ON. Then in the New Year he will be going on a radio tour to promote a brand new single. He gave us a sneak peek of his new single during his performance at the emerging artist showcase. It’s a great song called “How a Heart Works”. You can expect to hear this song on radio stations across Canada.

Dylan Burk Interview

Listen to “Looking Like That”

In country music, the Front Porch has long been a place of reflection. A place where you can look at the life you have inside that front door. A place where time almost seems to stand still, where you can get away. It’s also a place where you can go to observe the world as it passes by you. To think about your place out there beyond the driveway.
