We sat down with Aaron on the virtual Front Porch to catch up, talk about his latest release and explore the influences shaping his music.

“Can’t complain one bit. Career is rockin, new single is rockin, family is great,” says Aaron.

When asked about his favorite line from the song, Aaron couldn’t pick just one—but if he had to choose, he says, “It’s a miracle we ever made it this far” holds special meaning. It reflects the challenges he and his wife faced during the pandemic, showing how far they’ve come in their relationship.
This personal connection to the lyrics has made the song even more powerful and Aaron hopes listeners take away one key message: before letting go of a good thing, think twice!

Fatherhood and Songwriting
“Your Time to Stay” marks a shift in Aaron’s music, showing a more vulnerable side.
For him, songwriting is a form of therapy—An outlet to express the emotions and experiences he’s going through, knowing that others can likely relate.
This openness continues in his upcoming EP, which will feature both fun tracks and deeper, autobiographical songs.
“I love doing fun songs that make people dance but this EP hops around a bit,” Aaron said. “We’ve got fun songs, but we also have songs that are real, songs that talk about what I have gone through these past few years.”

Aaron also touched on how becoming a dad has influenced his music, especially songs that explore personal themes like love and family.
Fatherhood, he says, has changed everything, giving him a deeper love and understanding that he pours into his songwriting. “It’s a way deeper love than I have ever known. What a gift.”

Inspired by his own experience of looking up at the clouds, searching for answers, the video reflects the emotions of the song in a simple yet meaningful way.
“When I was living this song I spent a lot of time looking up at the clouds,” says Aaron. “Asking for the next right thing to do. Literally taking one step at a time. Didn’t even need to give them direction. They just heard the song and made a video of what they thought it would be. I love that music can do that.”

What’s Next for Aaron Goodvin?
Looking ahead, Aaron has plenty of goals.
While he dreams of winning Male Vocalist of the year, headlining a major festival and performing at Red Rocks in Colorado, he’s also grateful for how far he’s come.
“A lot of people don’t get this far,” Aaron says. “I think that is important to remember.”
But he’s not slowing down! With tour dates in Canada this November and more shows lined up after his EP drops in February 2025, there’s a lot for fans to look forward to.
