The Redhill Valleys, the powerhouse Canadiana and alt-country trio, have put their signature stamp on a ’90s classic with the release of their version of The Wallflowers’ GRAMMY-Award-winning hit, “One Headlight.”
Available now, this cover stays true to the song’s anthemic essence while breathing fresh life into its storytelling.
A New Take on a Timeless Classic
The Redhill Valleys have made a name for themselves with their rich harmonies, rootsy rock energy, and emotionally charged storytelling. With their interpretation of “One Headlight,” they lean into the grit and atmospheric depth that have become their trademarks.
“‘One Headlight’ is a song that has always resonated with us. The lyrics carry a weight, but there’s also a sense of movement, like something pulling you forward,” shares the band.
“When we recorded our version, we wanted to capture that feeling in a way that felt honest to who we are. We leaned into the grit, the atmosphere, and the storytelling, letting it take shape in our own style. It still feels as relevant today as it did when we first heard it, and that is what drew us to it. Our own interpretation of the song always felt like pushing forward through the dark, and that’s something everyone can connect to.”

Who Are The Redhill Valleys?
Emerging onto the Canadian music scene in 2016, The Redhill Valleys—Chelsea McWilliams (Bass/Vocals), Tim Allard (Lead Guitar/Vocals), and Matt Soliveri (Drums)—have captivated audiences with their earthy harmonies, timeless songwriting, and undeniable stage presence.
The Hamilton, Ontario-based trio draws influence from legendary artists such as Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, Neil Young, The Band, and Fleetwood Mac.
Following their two-part EP Travel Well in 2022, The Redhill Valleys have gained momentum with hits like “Anymore,” which won first place in American Songwriter Magazine’s lyric contest and received regular airplay on SiriusXM’s North Americana, CBC Country, and Tom Petty Radio.
Their dedication has led to multiple nominations at the Country Music Association of Ontario Awards for “Best Group” and “Best Roots Artist” for three consecutive years.
Making Their Mark
With performances at major festivals including Boots and Hearts, Big Sky Music Festival, and Cavendish Beach Music Festival, The Redhill Valleys have built a dedicated fanbase across Canada, the U.S., and the U.K.
This year, they played three shows at C2C: Country to Country 2024, Europe’s biggest country music festival.
Beyond their music, the trio is passionate about giving back, supporting programs such as AIFEC, Girls Rock Camp, and City Kidz in Hamilton.
Now, with their reimagined version of “One Headlight” alongside original tracks like “Making Rumours,” “Rhinestoned,” “Ready To Roll,” and “Make It Out Alive,” The Redhill Valleys continue to honour their influences while carving out their own path.
Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to their music, this release is a must-listen, blending nostalgia with a fresh, modern edge that only The Redhill Valleys can deliver.
