Our friend Brian John Harwood has released an incredibly touching song called “Dad” that he wrote for his father. It’s an emotional song that many men will be able to relate to.
“Dad” is filled with raw emotion. When reading the lyrics, and listening to the song, it’s clear that this song is personal for Brian.
“This is a song I wrote the day my father went in to have heart surgery,” Brian explained. “I sat down with him before he got into the car to leave to tell him how much I loved him in case anything happened.” Brian continued, “I turned the words he said to me that day into this song. I hope this song brings you memories if you have lost your father … I hope it makes you pick up the phone and call him if you are lucky enough to still have him in your life.”
The best songs always come from a place of truth. There’s nothing better than when a songwriter writes from the heart. And this is what Brian achieved with “Dad”.
This is a bit of a different song than we are used to hearing from Brian John Harwood. It’s a softer side that works really well with Brian’s voice. “Dad” shows the versatility and talent Brian has as a songwriter.

2020 was a busy year for Brian! He got engaged, and wrote and released so much new music. He’s one of the artists that have had a huge year despite the craziness of the world.
