Top 5 Episodes Of On The Porch with Front Porch Music Season 1

The love and reception from our very first season of the podcast has been absolutely overwhelming. In a short year, we have become one of the top music podcasts in all of Canada … which is NUTS!

So from all of us here, THANK YOU!

Thank you for listening, and thank you for sharing our show with your friends. It means a lot.

We have 22 fantastic episodes, but 5 of them were streamed over and over again. So here are our top 5 episodes of the podcast.

5. Going Viral On TikTok with Country Artist Alli Walker

We love Alli and really loved being able to get to know her more and introduce you all to her.

We talked about being an expert and putting in your 10,000 hours. We also learned that her favourite instrument is the bagpipes … and she’s REALLY good at playing them.

We could have talked to Alli all day, and it’s clear that you all agree … She was one of the most listened to episodes of Season 1.

4. Peace, Love & What’s in the Shaunavon Water with Hunter Brothers

Hunter Brothers are a busy band of … literal brothers, who are known for their incredible harmonies.

Growing up in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan, Ty, Dusty, JJ, Luke, and Brock know a thing or two about playing hockey, hard work on the farm, and country music.

We had all five brothers On The Porch where we chatted about growing up in rural Saskatchewan, how they got into music together, and their newest single, “Peace Love & Country Music”.

3. What Even Was 2021, with Elyse Saunders

Elyse was our very first guest to join us for the pod.

She joined us On The Porch and we had a really great chat with her. She’s an absolutely pleasure. We got to know her a bit and talked a lot about the music industry and her relationship with it as one of the top independent artists in Canada.

She’s a wonderful human being and we had a conversation and learned more about her than you can imagine.

Have a listen and you’ll see why this was one of the most listened to episodes of season 1.

2. Hillbilly Accents, Boots & Hearts, and Tinfoil Hats with Riley Taylor

Since blasting on to the scene as the 2021 winner of the Emerging Artist Showcase at Boots & Hearts, he has been laying the foundation to have a huge debut in the world of Country music. The time has finally come for his debut single to be released.

Earlier this year, he released “Good Things” and it has been climbing the charts.

When Riley was announced as a finalist in the 2021 Boots & Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase, he was completely unknown by anyone outside of his hometown. He hadn’t released any music, didn’t have a website, and barely had any social media presence. So we were all excited to hear what he was all about.

On this episode, we talked about what that whirlwind of a process was like for him. How as a shy person he found himself through music.

1. What’s A Thirst Trap? With Owen Riegling

From the moment this episode was released it was one of the most streamed. But then, in August Owen Riegling won the 2022 Boots & Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase and immediately the streams started to climb.

All of a sudden, people were really curious to learn more about Owen.

Owen Riegling is a talented country artist and getting to chat with him is always a treat. Fun Fact … Owen also created the theme song for our show.

Even though Jenna and Owen made fun of Logan for being old … there was still time for us to chat about the industry and to get to know Owen more. We talked about his small town roots, going to school for music, and making music for social media.

Stream "On The Porch with Front Porch Music"

In country music, the Front Porch has long been a place of reflection. A place where you can look at the life you have inside that front door. A place where time almost seems to stand still, where you can get away. It’s also a place where you can go to observe the world as it passes by you. To think about your place out there beyond the driveway.
