Taylor-Rae has listeners wondering “If This Is Love” with her brand new single, out everywhere now.
The 2022 Boots and Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase runner-up has made some big moves (literally) since the release of her previous single “I Can’t”, and is excited about her newest work.
Dialling In On The Story Behind “If This Is Love”
Taylor-Rae knows how to bring you right into the experience she’s drawing from. For “If This Is Love”, it’s surely no different.
In talking about how the song came to be, she says this;
“Let me set the scene. It’s raining, I’m driving to my write and it turns out to be right around the corner from my ex-boyfriends house. When I walked in the door, I mentioned it and Dave (Borys) asked if he was the one that got away. From there we got talking about relationships that you try to make work, but for some reason you never feel completely settled, and thus, ‘If This Is Love’ was created.”
Co-written with David Borys, Bobbi Smith and produced/co-written by Dan Swinimer (Madeline Merlo, Jojo Mason), “If This Is Love” dives into the complications of deciding if the love you have is enough, and if not, what else could be out there.
It also brings in the notion of wondering if it’s really okay to want more if this love you have isn’t giving you everything you’re looking for.
With influences from Chris Stapleton and Carly Pearce, Taylor-Rae has infused soul into her pop-country sound.
“I feel like I’ve found my sweet spot with ‘If This Is Love’; it’s vocally driven and soulful, something I’ve been working to bring to a modern country sound. I couldn’t be more excited to share this one!”
With her impressive vocal abilities on prominent display, “If This Is Love” soars to new places and is sure to turn heads.

Boots and Hearts wasn’t the only festival that saw Taylor-Rae take the stage. She spent her summer playing Cowboys Music Festival and the Coca Cola Stage at the Calgary Stampede, and Sunfest Country Music Festival in British Columbia.
The Alberta-born and raised country singer made her move to Nashville this past fall after spending a number of years on the west coast.
Taylor-Rae has already played a number of shows in Music City, including headlining her first round at the coveted “Listening Room” to a sold out crowd.
2023 is looking to be nothing short of Taylor-Rae’s biggest year yet.
