LANCO Performs at Edmonton’s Ranch Roadhouse

Last night, country music band LANCO Wrapped Up Their Hallelujah Nights Tour At Edmonton’s Ranch Roadhouse. One year after releasing their debut album, Hallelujah Nights, LANCO’s final concert on their first headlining tour lit up the Ranch Roadhouse in Edmonton on January 23, 2019.

Georgia native Caylee Hammack opened the concert, taking over the stage in her military-style jacket and belting out her songs with Dolly Parton-esque vocals.

She got the crowd warmed up by showing off her harmonica skills with a cover of Tom Petty’s “Mary Jane’s Last Dance” and finished off her set with her first single “Family Tree”.

LANCO took to the stage with energy and enthusiasm, starting their set with “Hallelujah Nights” and encouraging their fans to sing and clap along. Lead vocalist Brandon Lancaster joked with the crowd about the -19 degree temperatures, saying everyone needed to warm up their voices by singing along with “Singin’ at the Stars”.

Throughout the performance, each member of the band (five friends from college who got their start playing in Nashville) displayed their talent on several different instruments, including guitar, drums, keyboard, banjo, and mandolin.

Despite their small repertoire, LANCO kept the crowd engaged by throwing in some covers of country favourites and nostalgic rock and roll. They showed their range by performing “Mr. Brightside” by the Killers (a favourite during their college days) but also proving they could get their honkytonk on with John Michael Montgomery’s “Sold (Grundy County Auction)” while the crowd sang along.

About halfway through the concert, Lancaster mentioned how much the band misses being in the crowd at concerts. Each band member grabbed an acoustic guitar and made their way out into the audience, forming a circle around Lancaster, who was on a small platform. The band proceeded to sing Tom Petty’s “Free Falling” and some Eric Church favourites like “Drink in My Hand” and “Springsteen”, with fans enthusiastically joining in.

Back on stage, Lancaster busted out a harmonica and they performed “Middle of the Night”. The band finished their set with “Born to Love You” and returned for an encore, playing “Greatest Love Story” while couples danced under the armadillo disco ball (yes, you read that right).

LANCO’s dynamic and energetic performance is an experience that should not be missed!
