Our friend Manny Blu has released his first single of 2021. “Train” is one of the freshest sounds we’ve heard in the genre, but also brings feelings of nostalgia for anyone who grew up in the 90s.
Manny is a fantastic performer and knows how to put on a good show. “Train” is a song that brings up memories of seeing Manny perform live and connecting with his audience. This single captures his energy perfectly!
His sound has evolved over the years, and this song has such a cool sound. It mixes traditional country sounds with sounds from the punk genre. It’s a sub-genre of country music called Cowpunk. Growing up in the 90s, this song reminds me of the music I used to listen to in high school. It brings me right back to listening to Green Day, Blink-182, The Offspring, etc. A dose of nostalgia mixed with country music! It’s a perfect marriage I didn’t know that I needed.
Manny will be releasing an EP later this year, and this single is giving us a teaser of what to expect from his EP. We’re going to be hearing more punk-country crossovers, and I’m really looking forward to it.

About Manny Blu
Manny started his career with aspiration of competing as a Mixed Martial Artist in Montreal. He trained for years and made his amateur debut in 2013. He left the octagon victorious, but found himself injured in the process.
During his recovery from that injury, Manny picked up a guitar and started learning how to play. It was during this recovery that he discovered his true career path. He’s been performing and recording ever since.
