Platinum-selling independent artist, Dan Davidson has dropped “He Met a Girl”, and this one’s easily the banger of the summer. What better place to debut the brand new single than at the Calgary Stampede … which is exactly what he’s doing.
Laced with hooky melodies and a hint of reminiscence, Davidson calls the song “Feel-good, summertime, country music with a sprinkle of the 80s.”

“He Met a Girl” will be featured on Dan Davidson’s upcoming album Nineteen Eighty Something. The single follows the project’s lead single “If These Streets Could Talk”, which was released earlier this year.
“He Met a Girl” effortlessly captures a relatable experience that has the potential to impact anyone’s life; how a chance encounter with someone special can completely change a person’s life. The playful story matches the energy Dan brings to all of his releases.
To top it off, “He Met a Girl” was an easy one to write.
“Sometimes songs just fall out of you, and you don’t have to fight it,” Davidson shares. “This was one of those songs. It’s about how everything can change for a guy in an instant, and usually it’s enough to explain it all by saying ‘he met a girl’ – right away, everyone knows what that means.”
“He Met a Girl” will also be hitting the radio airwaves in the coming weeks as the first radio-single from the upcoming album.
