Country-pop singer Emilie Roberts is back with a new single, “In Love with LA,”

“In Love with LA” taps into the emotional challenges that come with long-distance relationships or breakups caused by distance.

Co-written by Emilie Roberts, Lydia Sutherland, and Aaron Pollock, and produced by Grady Saxman, “In Love with LA” digs deep into the emotional challenges of watching a relationship unravel due to physical distance.

The Story Behind “In Love with LA”

The inspiration for “In Love with LA” stems from Roberts’ own experience, as the song explores the feelings of being left behind when her ex moved to Los Angeles to chase their own dreams.

For anyone who has experienced the pain of physical distance in a relationship, the song offers a sense of understanding and connection. This sense of abandonment and longing is something many people can relate to, especially those who have experienced the heartache of distance pulling two people apart.

Roberts hopes the song brings comfort to listeners who are going through similar experiences. “I really hope this song helps people feel less alone if they are going through a long-distance relationship or a breakup that has to do with distance,” she shares.

Hitting The Punch – Lyrically And Musically

One of the standout moments in “In Love with LA” is the punchy bridge, where Roberts delivers the powerful lyric: “You’re probably soaking in the lights while I’m barely sleeping through the night.” This raw honesty, combined with Grady Saxman’s impactful production, creates an unforgettable emotional climax that listeners are bound to connect with.

Roberts explained that the production team worked to make the bridge sound extra punchy, adding an extra layer of emotional depth to the song. This attention to detail helps make “In Love with LA” a song that hits hard, both lyrically and musically.
