The message on Linday Ell’s Instagram account started with “I don’t have cancer, but…”. She announced Thursday morning (Feb 28, 2019) that she was headed into surgery to remove pre-cancerous cells that the doctor discovered.

This news came as a shock to fans, and seemed to come out of nowhere. ! “Sometimes we think we’re fine. Sometimes we think we eat healthy and workout, and that means we should be fine.” explains Ell, “But never underestimate the power of a check up at the doctor.”
According to Ell’s Instagram Stories, she was admitted into the hospital around 7am EST, and provided one more quick snapshot of her in a hospital gown and bed at around 8am EST.
This has been a big year for Lindsay Ell! She broke records in Canada as the first female Canadian country artist to have a single hit number 1 in a decade, and she was nominated for her first-ever ACM Award in the New Female Artist of the Year category.
