It’s that time of year again! The time of year where high school seniors across the country start to think about how they’re going to have the greatest Prom-posal of all times. Canadian country artist Meghan Patrick is the latest celebrity to be asked out to prom by one of us mere common folk.
Luke, an employee at the Enniskillen General Store, really wants to go to prom with his favourite Canadian country artist, Meghan Patrick. He got all gussied up, even bought some cowboy boots (… yeehaw?), and asked his employer to help him get Meghan Patrick’s attention.
They put a sign out on the road that says “Meghan Patrick will u please go to prom with me Luke”
Okay, side note: he can’t even spell out the word “you”, he had to go for the shortened version? Don’t you want to show your prospective prom date that you know how to spell?
The whole idea of an adult celebrity going to prom with a high school student is a little weird. A parent would never let their teenager go to prom with a regular grown 31 year old adult. But I guess for their 15 minutes of fame the parents are willing to look past the creepiness.
That being said, we really hope Meghan at least responds to this fella.
Meghan, go to the prom with this kid. You don’t have to stay all night. Go. Get a couple pictures, make a PR event out of it. Get your picture taken before dinner, then get out of there. Every one of those kids will be a fan for life after that.
