Catching Up With Craig Silver And His Journey To Country Music: An Artist Profile

Country artist Craig Silver

Craig Silver’s latest duet with Annika, “Mistletoe & Holly” has been a perfect soundtrack to the holiday season.

“Mistletoe & Holly” captures the spirit of the holiday season in a perfect nutshell; the anticipation of the season, holiday traditions, and Christmas decor with the wish for it to never have to end.

That’s not all Silver has been working on since we last caught up with him. On top of releasing “Mistletoe & Holly,” he’s also been working on his upcoming EP, which is slated for release in 2022.

He returned back to Alberta, from his home in Nova Scotia in October and has been focused on his music.

You may recall, Craig Silver is also an educator. He’s been a teacher for almost a decade, and has been doing some substitute work in schools. He’s also been teaching music lessons.

On top of all of this, he’s been working away on some renovations. Needless to say, he’s been pretty busy.

He’s been celebrating the success of his fall release, “Share These Dreams,” and is looking forward to gathering some momentum in 2022 leading up to the EP release.

More About Craig Silver

Craig Silver has been singing since he was six years old – music has always been a huge part of his life. He grew up on the East Coast, originally from the Annapolis Valley area, in Nova Scotia. He sang choir music as far back as the third grade. Surrounded by folk and classic rock music on the east coast, Silver didn’t have a natural affinity for country music.

Silver did participate in country talent shows, but fell away from country when he joined a Gospel choir band, which he played and toured Canada and the United States with for ten years.

Silver was selected to participate in the 2019 Global Country Star Search, whose notable alumni include Canadian hit makers Brett Kissel and Aaron Goodvin. Silver was the runner up in the 2019 program, and since he was only one point shy of the winner, he was also selected to travel to Nashville. Unfortunately, the trip was scheduled for early 2020, and the pandemic had other plans, so the team has not yet made it to Nashville.

He’s really dove into the country music genre, driven by the impact of being able to tell a story and convey meaning and feeling through song lyrics.
