This album shows us a new side to Ryan’s music. And the stripped-down delivery brings his Prairie roots to the surface. The musical intricacies and thoughtful lyrics showcase Ryan’s creative maturity as an artist. The hint of bluegrass helps to guide you through the stories being told.

The themes  of this album hint at Ryan’s roots as he explores the relationship between losing one’s sense of self and finding it again.

“Life is full of struggles. This album digs into that,” Ryan explains. “But it is also about the foundations that hold a person together through it all. For me, that foundation is my connection to place. If there is one thing that I learned most from doing backcountry trips,” he continued, “it is that the nature of life is a journey. It is so easy to focus on the destination while forgetting to enjoy the journey along the way.”

What a great quote: “It is so easy to focus on the destination while forgetting to enjoy the journey along the way.”

We could listen to this album all day. In fact it’s been on repeat throughout the Front Porch for the last little while. The acoustic music puts you in such a great mood.
