The Heels Release An Aptly Titled Single “High Heels On”

Country trio The Heels

Country trio The Heels have released an aptly named single called “High Heels On”, and it’s an empowering anthem that speaks to domestic abuse and reclaiming power.

“High Heels On” is a fantastic song that features these three powerhouses’ vocal abilities. It’s a song about stepping into power, speaking up, and standing up for yourself.

This song not only has an important and powerful message, it’s also incredibly catchy. After you listen to it, the chorus will stick with you for days. The Heels have voices that mesh perfectly. When they’re singing together, they sound like a unified voice. But when they harmonize it sounds like the play off one another. They’re really interesting to listen to!

“We wrote this song as an evolution to another song once in our live show called ‘Blue Lights,'” they say. “It was one of the first songs we ever sang together written about running and hiding from violence, abuse, manipulation and fear. Inspired by the chaos of personal past traumas and struggles we sang feeling grateful it was no longer our reality. “High Heels On” is the evolution of our survival … the rebirth and the revolution.”

It’s really great song. We’ve had it on repeat, and added it to our Top Indie Country Music playlist on Spotify. That’s how much we enjoy this song.

About The Heels

The Heels consists of three incredible artists: Bobbi Smith, Brittni Dominelli, and Kyla Rawlins.

Their story began at a North Vancouver café co-owned by Kyla, and where Brittni worked behind the counter. Bobbi was a regular customer, and the three soon decided it would be more rewarding artistically and emotionally to join forces rather than pursue individual solo careers. Momentum steadily built from there with their debut single “Come Around” hitting radio in 2017 and performances at the Calgary Stampede and the Sunfest Country Music Festival further raising their profile in western Canada.

In country music, the Front Porch has long been a place of reflection. A place where you can look at the life you have inside that front door. A place where time almost seems to stand still, where you can get away. It’s also a place where you can go to observe the world as it passes by you. To think about your place out there beyond the driveway.
