Winnipeg based singer-songwriter Brandi Vezina’s newest single “Gasoline” is now available on all streaming platforms.
“Gasoline” effortlessly fuses the classic country sound with an edge of bluesy-rock, channeling what Vezina calls her “country outlaw vibes”.
Vezina and her producer, the CCMA-award winning Murray Pulver, were joined in the studio by Travis Switzer (who is known for his work with Dallas Smith) and Chad Melchert (who has previously worked with Australian-Canadian country music artist Gord Bamford), as well as Winnipeg’s own Joey Landreth.
The combination of these powerhouse artists in the studio together creates a performance you’re not going to forget anytime soon.
The sultry single is all about on-again off-again relationships. “If you’ve been in a relationship that you knew was no good for you,” Vezina says, “you get how hard it is to leave when the connection is intense.”
Vezina captures that feeling perfectly on the new single. The verses move us through the steps of a secret meetup between lovers that the narrator knows isn’t good for them. Vezina erupts on the chorus, delivering the powerful refrain: “you’ll be the match, and I’ll be the gasoline”.
The single follows a full-length album debut last year, #dontsettle, as well as another single from earlier this year, “Do It Right”. Vezina has been keeping busy in the music industry since 2019, and at Front Porch, we can’t wait to see what she does next.
