Canadian country artist Josh Ross got a huge surprise at the 2024 CMA Awards.
The Burlington, Ontario, artist was surprised by Luke Bryan on the red carpet, where he was presented with the Jeff Walker Global Country Artist Award … an award given to recognize an artist’s international impact in country music.
From Burlington to Nashville: Josh Ross’s Remarkable Journey
Josh was visibly emotional when CMA award show co-host Luke Bryan interrupted his red-carpet interview. “We’re crashing for a good reason,” Bryan said. “We’ve got a surprise for you.”
As Luke Bryan handed over the award, Josh was visibly overwhelmed, saying, “I’m about to cry, and it’s the start of the night. Dude, what the heck?”
Luke praised Josh’s relentless work ethic and impact over the past year: “He’s just been out there killing it on the road and knocking it out of the park. CMAs got with me and said, ‘Hey, we’re gonna have some fun with this guy.’ Congratulations!”
A Year of Big Wins for Josh Ross
This win comes on the heels of Ross’s breakout year at the 2024 CCMA Awards in Edmonton, where he walked away with three trophies: Entertainer of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, and Single of the Year for his hit “Trouble.”
Ross’s journey to success is a testament to his resilience.
