Justin Fancy’s “I’ve Got A Keg” Is the Feel-Good Country Song Your Summer Playlist Is Missing

Justin Fancy "I've Got A Keg"

Justin Fancy knows how to land a punchline, and “I’ve Got A Keg” might be his best one yet.

The Newfoundland-born country artist is back with a track that somehow manages to be funny, heartfelt, and genuinely catchy all at once. That’s harder to pull off than it sounds, and Fancy makes it feel effortless.

What the Song Is Actually About

At its core, “I’ve Got A Keg” follows a guy who’s out chasing a dream when heartbreak decides to show up uninvited and make a bad situation worse. Classic country setup, but Fancy takes it somewhere unexpected.

The hook does the heavy lifting: “He might have a six pack, but I’ve got a keg.” It’s a double meaning that works both as self-deprecating humour and as a genuine reframe of what matters. You’ll laugh, then you’ll nod, then you’ll want to hear it again.

The Sound

Produced by Fancy and Clint Curtis of Sevenview Studios, the track has an upbeat, backyard-in-July kind of energy. It’s the kind of song that sounds like it was made to be played loud with the tailgate down.

Co-written with bassist and bandmate Jacob Earle, the song feels lived-in and collaborative in the best way. There’s a looseness to it that gives the humour room to breathe without the whole thing feeling like a novelty track.

A Strong Year Getting Stronger

Fancy has been building real momentum in Canadian country for a while now, with notable releases including “Sure Beats a Good Time,” “Makes Me Wanna,” and “Lie,” which was executive produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Greg Wells. “I’ve Got A Keg” fits right into that run without repeating it.

The single is also the first taste of his upcoming EP, She Just Is, due in July 2026. The project will include “Break My Heart Again” and “She Just Is” alongside three new originals, and if this track is any indication, it’s going to be worth the wait.

On top of that, Fancy is set to open for Cody Johnson at Ottawa Bluesfest on July 9th. Not a bad way to spend a summer.

Bottom Line

“I’ve Got A Keg” is exactly what great country music does at its best: it takes something universal, wraps it in a good melody, and makes you feel a little better about your own mess. Stream it, add it to your summer playlist, and raise one for Justin Fancy.

In country music, the Front Porch has long been a place of reflection. A place where you can look at the life you have inside that front door. A place where time almost seems to stand still, where you can get away. It’s also a place where you can go to observe the world as it passes by you. To think about your place out there beyond the driveway.
