Kendra Kay Signs Development Deal With Willing Records/Universal Music Canada

Kendra Kay is sharing some exciting news today!

The 5-time Manitoba Country Music Association Award winner has signed a development deal with Willing Records/Universal Music Canada!

Fresh off the release of her single “Wild” earlier this year, which has already garnered over a million streams on digital streaming platforms, this new deal marks an exciting next chapter in Kay’s career.

What This Means For Kendra Kay

First up is the release of her next single, “Say It Again”, this Friday July 15th. The track was written by country music powerhouses Maren Morris, Ryan Hurd and Connie Harrington, and is the precursor to her upcoming debut full-length album Homegrown Heart, releasing this fall.

Willing Records, founded by Canadian Country star and CCMA Award winner Bobby Wills, “was created as a vehicle for developing artists to take the next steps and Kendra Kay is poised to do just that.”

This exciting news is the latest in a long line of successes for the Canadian Prairies-raised artist, including spending 17 weeks in the Top 100 Canada Country Airplay charts, a top 10 spot in the 2020 CBC Searchlight Competition, and winning the MCMA Fan’s Choice Award 2 years in a row.

Kay also brings a significant tour history with her, having opened for Canadian icons Tim Hicks, James Barker Band and Jess Moskaluke, to name a few. Her energetic live show has also been seen at festivals across Canada such as Dauphin’s Coutryfest, Canadian Music Week and Canadian Country Music Week.
