For the first time, a Canadian will be headlining the Boots & Hearts Music Festival. The festival has announced Shania Twain, Florida Georgia Line, and Sam Hunt will be headlining Canada’s biggest country music festival in 2022.
Festival season has looked a little different the last couple of years.
[ANNOUNCEMENT] It was announced that Walker Hayes will not be playing at this year’s festival …
We were excited that the Boots & Hearts team were able to pull off a smaller festival in the Summer of 2021. But music lovers longed for something more. So this announcement is huge news.
The full lineup has been announced! A good portion of the lineup are Canadian! It’s so great to see a major Canadian festival putting an emphasis on Canadian artists.
Supporting the headliners so far this year include many fantastic female artists: Mackenzie Porter, Lindsay Ell, Robyn Ottolini, and Meghan Patrick. Russell Dickerson and Dustin Lynch are also playing the 2022 festival.
“Having internationally acclaimed icon Shania Twain perform at Boots & Hearts Music Festival at Burl’s Creek is an absolute dream come true,” said Eva Dunford, Founding Partner, Republic Live. “As a Canadian, family run business whose pride and joy is this festival, we couldn’t be more excited about the incredible headliners confirmed for our comeback year. It will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
“Boots and Hearts will be Shania’s only North American festival performance for 2022 and her first-ever appearance at a Canadian music festival,” Eva continued, “so it’s an even greater honour to have her join the Boots family. We can’t wait to welcome home the artists, fans, partners, suppliers, and staff who make Boots & Hearts an incredible experience.”
The main stage on Sunday August 7 will feature an all-female lineup from start to finish. With only two male solo artists playing on the Sunday, it’s too bad they didn’t commit to making the entire lineup for Sunday female. This is, though, a big deal and a great start to the calls for more female inclusion in the country industry. This festival hasn’t always been great in that area, so it’s really great to see a conscious effort made in this area.
This year’s festival is taking place August 4-7, 2022 at Burl’s Creek in Oro-Medonte, just north of Toronto.
This is one of the biggest lineups so far for the franchise. Ticket are on sale now.
