Lydia Sutherland recently released her newest single “dressing room”, which made its debut in the Top Of The Country competition, where Lydia was a semi-finalist.
First coming to the scene with her single “Love Me” back in 2021, the follow up single, “Date a Friend” is what captured the ears of listeners across the country, and earned Lydia a feature as iHeart Radio’s Future Star.
In 2022, she signed her first record deal with Universal Music Canada and a publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing in early 2023.
A songwriter first, we dove in with Lydia and talked about her journey on Quebec’s La Voix, her immense song catalog, moving to Nashville, and more!
We also challenged Lydia to write a verse of a song with three random words!
You can catch Lydia at Montreal’s Lasso Music Festival this summer.

In country music, the Front Porch has long been a place of reflection. A place where you can look at the life you have inside that front door. A place where time almost seems to stand still, where you can get away. It’s also a place where you can go to observe the world as it passes by you. To think about your place out there beyond the driveway.
