Interview With Beamer Wigley

Front Porch: Hi Beamer, we so appreciate you taking the time to join us up on the Front Porch. If you don’t mind, it would be great if you could introduce yourself to our audience and tell us a bit about yourself.

Beamer Wigley: Of course!! Well I’m a young country artist based in BC, I’ve been playing guitar since I was 5 and performing since I was 7. I released my first album when I was 13. Since then, I’ve been writing and releasing songs building up to an EP in the fall!

FP: You have such a killer voice, that it’s really hard to believe that you’re only 16 years old! Your voice has such depth and character to it. When did you realize that you had this talent, and decide that you wanted to pursue a career in music?

BW: I had sort of a lightbulb moment when I was 5. My mom showed me the music video for “Start a Band” by Keith Urban and Brad Paisley, and I just knew I had to be a guitar player. Singing didn’t really interest me much at that time but I was REALLY serious about guitar. Then about 2 years later I started singing and performing, and I fell in love with it! That’s when I knew that it was going to be what I pursued and what I wanted to do with my life!

FP: Your new single “I Knew” is a great song that’s really catchy. What was it about this song that resonated with you?

BW: Well I loved the music and the melody, but what really stood out to me was the story. That’s what I love so much about this song, and country music! Being able to tell these cool stories in a new and beautiful ways!

FP: What was the recording process like for you? Do you enjoy being in the studio, or do you prefer to be on a stage connecting with an audience?

BW: I love them both for different reasons. Being in the studio is a really awesome way to utilize all my creative energy and put it into something really cool and fun! But being on the stage is an entirely different experience. The crowd, the band, the lights, all coming together to create this really unique moment. It’s really a special thing to experience.

FP: You have had the opportunity to work with some of the biggest names in music, and being the youngest artist signed to Invictus Entertainment Group and Big Star Recordings. It’s a testament to your talent, but we’re wondering what’s that like for you, is it a little surreal?

BW: It’s kinda crazy! Being able to work with Jim Cressman and the others at Invictus and Big Star at such a young age was really amazing! And now with my management in Nashville, yea I guess the word would be surreal! I’ve been so lucky to always have amazing people who work with and believe in me! I am very thankful!

FP: And really quickly, give us your top 5 songs or artists that you are really into right now?

BW: Oh jeez, ok I listen to so much music this is tough.

Alright 5 artists, here we go! (In no particular order)

  • Thomas Rhett
  • Alec Benjamin
  • 5 Seconds of Summer
  • Carly Pearce
  • Vulfpeck

Thanks so much Beamer! We can’t wait to hear what’s next for you, and to watch your career grow.

Lyrics to Beamer Wigley’s Single “I Knew”

I don’t know, if i’ll ever make money playing this guitar
and I don’t know
if I got enough cash for gas in the car
Or if my college team, is gonna win the whole dang thing
Maybe next year
And who knows
If the numbers I picked gonna win me the Tennessee lotto
Or if my numbers coming up tomorrow
Theres a lot I don’t know

But i knew how you looked that Friday night
When I gave you my jacket it was cold outside
i tried to kiss you, but you kissed me first
Radio playing, singing every word with you
yeah with you, Baby I knew

I don’t know, about stocks or bonds or politics
and I don’t know, if your dad thinks I’m as good as it gets
or who built the pyramids
And how long forever is

But i knew how you looked that Friday night
When I gave you my jacket it was cold outside
i tried to kiss you, but you kissed me first
Radio playing, singing every word with you, with you
I knew that song was gonna be our song
in the headlight glow we were holding on so tight
I knew I’d never wanna take you home
Didn’t know where it was going but I wanted to go with you
Baby I knew
Wherever This was going ,I was gonna go with you
