Have you heard the latest from the River Town Saints? They just released a new single called “You Get To Me” and also released a new music video. This is by far their strongest single yet.
The River Town Saints have been through a lot in the last few years. They have quickly rose in the ranks within the country music industry in Canada, and this new song “You Get To Me” is only going to increase their notoriety within the Canadian landscape.
“You Get To Me” is a song that is clearly hoping to reach peak success as Summer rolls around. It’s a great upbeat single that you can’t help but tap along to. The chorus is really catchy and easily gets stuck in your head. Guaranteed, you’re going to be singing along with it by the second time you hear it on the radio.
Just by the lyrics in the chorus, you can tell it’s going to be a good and fun song:
Like a Sunday sermon,
a top shelf bourbon,
a long kiss burnin up a back seat night.
A hometown touchdown,
a tailgate sundown,
a country song turnin’ up a real good time
You get to me, you get to me, you get to me, me.
While this song is SUPER fun, let’s call it what it is: a feel-good fun song that will be a hit for a Summer. Does this song have staying power? Probably not, but it will definitely help the River Town Saints increase their fan base – which is never a bad thing.
The music video that was released alongside the single’s release is incredibly simple. Nothing to write home about. There’s no real compelling story to it. The acting is perfectly okay, but the quality of the video falls a little flat. The song deserves a really fun summer-y video that enhances the song. So the video just seems to hold the song back a little bit.
What do you think of the song and the video? We’d love to hear your opinion on this.
