Brea Lawrenson Releases New Album “Demons”

Brea Lawrenson's new album called Demons

Country artist from the Ottawa Valley, Brea Lawrenson, has released a brand new album called “Demons”. This album features 12 tracks. Some of the tracks are previously released singles, but most are brand new!

From beginning to end, this entire album is a musical treat! Each track has so much emotion in the lyrics that it’s hard to just listen to the tracks once. Every time you listen to it is like peeling back the layers and discovering what’s underneath. This rings true even for the upbeat, more fun songs.

The album starts with Brea’s current single “Demons”, which we have previously reviewed. This is a really relatable song that anyone can see a bit of a reflection of themselves in. Both men and women often feel like this and it’s really important for artists like Brea to raise awareness of this through their art, and give people an outlet to relate to.

Many of the songs on the single are heartfelt and borderline tragic. Such as “As Far as Dreaming Goes“, “To a Friend“, “Cry“, “Hell Down Here“, and “Bridge I’m Burning“.

The majority of the tracks on this album have legs to stand on their own in terms of radio releases, but we think “Roulette” is one of the songs on the album that could perform really well with what’s currently on the radio. It has a great hook, it’s easy to sing along to in the car, and has a chorus that gets stuck in your head. It’s a great earworm! We’re hoping this is on her single release schedule *fingers crossed*!

The fifth track on the album “Daddy’s Moonshine” is another fun song that would sound great on radio! It’s unique, and unlike anything else that’s in rotation right now. This song may have actually been a single a few years back, but it would be awesome to have it re-released (in our humble opinions). When this song comes on in the car, it’s imperative to be on a backroad with the windows down, and the song cranked to max. It pairs perfectly with dirt roads and corn fields.

This album showcases Brea’s brilliant songwriting and unique vocals so well! There’s no doubt that she’s one of Canada’s strongest lyricists. We’re super pumped to see where this album will take her next. We encourage everyone to give this album a listen from front to end at least a couple times.

In country music, the Front Porch has long been a place of reflection. A place where you can look at the life you have inside that front door. A place where time almost seems to stand still, where you can get away. It’s also a place where you can go to observe the world as it passes by you. To think about your place out there beyond the driveway.
