It may have been a historic game 1 of the NBA finals for the Toronto Raptors, and people from across the globe flocked to Jurassic Park to watch. But not too far away Canadian country artist Manny Blu was getting ready to hit the stage at the Rock n Horse Saloon.
Country music fans in Toronto didn’t let the historic basketball game get in the way of their fun, and neither did the venue! The Rock ‘n’ Horse Saloon was playing the game on the TV’s so people could stay up to date with the score while enjoying great country music.
The saloon was filled with people ready for a good time. People came early to have dinner (and a few bevvies) with their friends while they waited for Manny Blu and local artist Elyse Saunders to hit the stage.
Everywhere you looked, people were smiling, laughing, singing along to the music playing in the bar, just itching to hear some live music.
Elyse Saunders Performs at Rock ‘n’ Horse Saloon in Toronto
Elyse Saunders started the night with a bluesy rendition of Shania’s classic hit “Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under”. Her set was a great mix of covers of new country, classic country, and original music… Even some Backstreet Boys! Boy band music has never seen so much plaid and denim on a dance floor, and it was glorious!
Throughout Elyse’s set, it was clear that Manny Blu was very excited to be performing in Toronto. He was out running around during Elyse’s set hugging people, making friends, and singing along. By the end of the set, Manny was so energized that it was clear we were going to be getting a great show.
Country Artist Manny Blu Performs in Toronto
After Elyse’s great set, it was time for Manny to hit the stage. When he took the stage, his band had a little huddle, took a little swig of beer (maybe it was a big swig?), and got to rocking! Manny’s set was also a great mix of original music and covers that everyone loves.
The crowd sang along and danced throughout the entire show, and it was clear the Manny Blu was having a great time on stage. His stage presence actually reminded us of a mix between Brantley Gilbert and Jason Aldean.
When it came time for Manny Blu’s “X on my Heart”, you could see people in the crowd singing along – which is always something so special for artists to experience.
It was a great night of country music, and the Rock ‘n’ Horse Saloon were great hosts to two great emerging country artists. If you’ve never been to the Rock ‘n’ Horse Saloon, you have to go check it out. They have one of the best patios in all of Toronto. It’s really quite special.
Even though the entire country was talking about the basketball game (the Raptors won by the way), for those in the room, it was a special night of great Canadian country music.
In country music, the Front Porch has long been a place of reflection. A place where you can look at the life you have inside that front door. A place where time almost seems to stand still, where you can get away. It’s also a place where you can go to observe the world as it passes by you. To think about your place out there beyond the driveway.
