Not too long ago, ANNIKA released “Strangers” … a breakup anthem about the many emotions that accompany a love story gone wrong. Her music video comes out later this week, but we got our hands on it a little early to give you the first peek at it.

The music video for this song is a fantastic compliment to the song. It takes the theme of the song and elevates it to help set the scene and guide the listener through the journey of a fragile breakup.
“Strangers” is an edgy, upbeat anthem about heartbreak. The piano holds down a steady beat, and stacked vocals punch through each chorus. And as usual, ANNIKAs vocals do not hold back. When it comes to the chorus, her voice packs a punch and is impossible not to sing along with.
“It was really amazing to see the story of this song come to life through the music video,” ANNIKA explains. “The actors showcased a relationship unravelling in real time and the director’s creative vision drove home the message of the song. Through the video, the audience gets to see the process of moving on from a relationship … which doesn’t always look the same for each individual.”
A great music video should enhance a song through a stylized dramatization of the lyrics and sentiment of the song. This music video does exactly that! The actors are able to effectively tell the story with ANNIKAs stylized scenes help set the mood and narrate the story. The director Oliver Banyard did a great job capturing the feel of the song.

ANNIKA easily has one of the strongest, and most dynamic voices in country music, and has told us that she’s bringing piano music to country music.
Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, she still lives in her hometown on the same block where she grew up. She now lives there with her husband Spencer, who also produced this song.
ANNIKA grew up in a musical family. As the youngest of five kids, she and each of her siblings all took piano. She started piano and violin when she was four years old, and began voice lessons at the age of ten.
This past Summer, ANNIKA was one of the finalists in the 2022 Boots & Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase. She wow’d the audience and made a lasting impression for everyone there.
