Continuing their annual tradition, the Blue Jay Sessions have released their third ensemble single to benefit a charity. This year it’s a cover of Tina Turner’s classic “The Best”.
This year’s single is a re-imagined take on Tina Turner’s famous hit “The Best”. The version brings the song to life with elements of country, rock, pop, and hip-hop genres.
Recorded at the CCMA Award-winning MCC Recording Studio in Calgary, the single features 12 vocalists. The vocalists include: Chevy Beaulieu, Amy Hef, Tania Joy, Ashley Ghostkeeper, Megan Dawson, Liz Christensen, Alex Hughes, Tyler Lewis, TAYLR, Aaron Pollock, Brettyn Rose, ZENON and Tea Fannie) as well as a recording band comprised of Nice Horse’s Tara McLeod, Krista Wodelet, Brandi Sidoryk, Amy Hef (acoustic guitar) and ZENON (keys).
The new song, as well as Blue Jay Sessions: Pride Edition and select Blue Jay Sessions events during Canadian Country Music Week, are helping to raise funds and awareness for End of the Rainbow Foundation, a Calgary-based initiative that supports queer newcomers in Canada.
