“Better Mistake” marks the first single of the year from back-to-back Top 30 artist, Teigen Gayse.
She says, “I love how it turned out and am so excited to finally share it with you all!”
Teigen has been riding quite a few highs over the last year. Her iHeartRadio Future Star single “If You Show Me Yours” clocked her first Top 30, followed by “Sleeping With Her” which reached #21 on the radio charts.
Teigen just made her Whiskey Jam debut in Nashville and has a number of shows announced across Canada this summer.

Making a “Better Mistake”
Best known for having a blast on stage and perhaps not taking herself too seriously, Teigen Gayse is now talking about relationship mistakes that perhaps weren’t one ones of regret.
“’Better Mistake’ is a song about unexpectedly falling for someone you consider a friend. Instead of a romance filled with regret, you realize you couldn’t have made a better mistake,” Teigen shares.
Doing things a little differently, we usually see a heartbreak song leaning more into regret and things you wish you didn’t have to go through. Putting a more positive spin on it, if you choose the right people to go through experiences with, Teigen shows it’s not always a bad thing; and it might turn out better even if it ends.
After a number of new releases over the last couple years, “Better Mistake” is a special one for Teigen.
“I wrote this song on my first writing trip to Nashville with Phil Barton and David Thomson. I brought the title in and we ran with it. I remember how fun and effortless it felt for the three of us to complete the song so quickly. I love how it turned out and am so excited to finally share it with you all!”

Teigen was a finalist in the 2023 SiriusXM Top of the Country competition, and has earned her a seat at the table in writing rooms with industry veterans such as Chad Kroeger, Gordie Samson, Jeff Trott, Dylan Guthro, Emma Lee Doty, Baker Grissom, Phil Barton, Patricia Conroy, Karen Kosowski, David Thompson and Gavin Slate.
With an infectious energy about her, Teigen has played some of Canada’s largest summer festivals such as Boots & Hearts, LASSO, Cavendish Beach, and the Calgary Stampede.
With a number of shows across Canada this summer, Teigen is set for another exciting year.
