3rd Annual Tebey Golf Classic Raises $65,000

Tebey, Dallas Smith, and others play gold at Black Diamond Golf Course

Friday May 31st, 2019 marked the 3rd Annual Tebey Golf Classic at Black Diamond Golf Club in Pontypool Ontario. It was all for the GPHS Foundation in support of GPHS Foundation and the YES Shelter.

The tournament this year raised $65,000 that will be used to directly impact the local community of Peterborough, and help fight youth homelessness.

It was a gorgeous day for a round of golf. Tebey’s annual event included tons of Canadian country artists, industry professionals, and featured special guest Dallas Smith who flew in from Vancouver specifically for this great cause.

The day started at noon with a delicious and traditional meal of chicken and waffles. With our bellies full, the tournament could officially begin! While golfing, there were plenty of stations between the holes to help refresh golfers. There was a grilled cheese station, Tito’s Vodka had a station offering lemony libations, there was a massage station, and much more.

Black Diamond Golf Club were excellent hosts to this tournament. It’s a fabulous golf course, with stunning landscaping. Every hole has a unique view that would just never get old. Attendees of the event were gushing over the amenities of this tournament, in particular the massage station. According to one golfer “The massage station really helped me calm down after golfing some very bad holes.” We hear you our friend… we hear you.

Once people finished their games (or just gave up), the clubhouse started to fill up with people ready to have a good time! There were auctions, prizes for the tournament, a nacho and poutine bar, and lots of great music. Tebey and Dallas Smith took to the stage to entertain everyone in a very intimate setting and performed 6 of their songs to a very excited crowd.

Golfers also had the chance to take part in a meet and greet with the two Canadian country artists, before Dallas was whisked away to catch a flight back out west.

But that wasn’t the end of the fun! Once the silent auction prizes were closed, the live auction prizes were bought, and all the donations from the day were tallied – it was revealed that the Tebey Golf Classic raised $65,000 for the local community of Peterborough!

In country music, the Front Porch has long been a place of reflection. A place where you can look at the life you have inside that front door. A place where time almost seems to stand still, where you can get away. It’s also a place where you can go to observe the world as it passes by you. To think about your place out there beyond the driveway.
