Jade Eagleson Talks About New Single “All Night To Figure It Out”

Jade Eagleson's single "All Night To Figure It Out"

Jade Eagleson’s latest single, “All Night To Figure it Out”, is out just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Eagleson broke into the Canadian Country scene in 2018 with his debut single, “Got Your Name On It“. Follow-up hits include “Count the Ways“, “Lucky“, “Still Gonna Be You“, and “Close“. A Jade Eagleson song is typically packed with a solid guitar riff,  a little bit of twang, and thoughtful yet cheeky lyrics.

“All Night to Figure it Out” isn’t missing any of these things, and in fact, it adds a little spice.

“This song requires a lot of attitude vocally, and my producer really pushed me past what I believed I was capable of for it, and I hope that you can feel that, and it resonates with you all when you listen. I also got a kick out of the timing for this release too … Happy Valentine’s Day everyone,” says Eagleson.

The track is flirty, the lyrics are a little daring, but the song is still upbeat, as opposed to delivering the message in a ballad.

The song is still fun, and very easily gets stuck in your head. He knew when he heard the song that he had to record it; wiping off his boots and spraying cologne is exactly how he got ready for his first date with his wife, after a day of work on the farm.

I had a chance to catch up with Jade Eagleson to see what he’s been up to, what he’s looking forward to this year, and to get his recommendations for what to add to your playlist.

Jade Eagleson has been known since his entry to the Country scene as a deep, powerful vocalist who leverages his true love for traditional country music, to position his neo-traditional music on the charts.

Eagleson says the lifestyle that comes with traditional country music, well it came naturally for him. He grew up in Millbrook Ontario, a small town outside of Peterborough. He comes from a family of farmers, the path he left to pursue music as a country artist.

After spending some time out West working in the trades, Eagleson returned home, to help his parents on the farm and start paying his dues as a musician.

After winning the Boots and Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase in 2017, Eagleson began to find his groove, and find his place in Country music.

His debut, self-titled album broke records after its release in July of 2020. He couldn’t believe when the album immediately did so well. “I never imagined anything like what happened … to happen. I was very blown away,” says Jade, about his freshman record taking the top spot for most streamed debut album for a Canadian Country artist.

While he’s proud of his first project, he’s excited to work on his next. He’s really proud of his music; it’s aligned with who he is, and how he’s grown over the last few years.

Eagleson has been riding the wave, taking time to celebrate his achievements. The pandemic slowed down his schedule tenfold. What’s he been doing with his free time? He’s been able to watch his son grow as he approaches two years old. He has a game … Jade plays the guitar, and he steals his pick and puts it in the guitar hole, because he knows Dad doesn’t like that.

What he’s learned from his time off, is that he will never take the opportunity to be on stage for granted. He will happily be up at 6am when he needs to be. He’s learned to make demos from home, realizing a new appreciation for his producers and the work that goes into getting a track together.

Eagleson, like the majority of us, is looking forward to returning to any form of normalcy 2021 allows. While the safety of people is far more important to him, he’d love to get on stage this year and perform if there’s a safe way to do that.

Finally, I asked Jade Eagleson what he’d tell young musicians looking to break into their career as an artist. His response … “Be true to yourself … everyone says that. But you’ve just gotta give it your all. Even after being signed or having a little success, there will be moments. Hold your focus, remain driven, and keep working hard.”

While Eagleson stays true to his roots, still listening to the likes of George Strait, Randy Travis, Lefty Frissell, and George Jones, he mixes in a little contemporary music, with his current favourites being Matt Lang, Tyler Joe Miller, Midland, and Luke Combs.

Lyrics To Jade Eagleson’s “All Night To Figure It Out”

Are you gonna slide all tight up next to me
Or make me work a little bit harder?
Are you gonna keep that kiss on your pretty red lips
And make me wait a little bit longer?
Ooh, I’ll do anything you want right now
If you don’t know how much I want you, girl
We got all night to figure it out

Saved up a little bit of that foldin’ money
Put on a little smell good
Cleaned all the muddy off my boots
Did it all for you
It took a little lookin’ but I found you a daisy
Tryin’ to cook up a little drive you crazy plan
Doin’ all I can

Are you gonna slide all tight up next to me
Or make me work a little bit harder?
Are you gonna keep that kiss on your pretty red lips
And make me wait a little bit longer?
Ooh, I’ll do anything you want right now
If you don’t know how much I want you, girl
We got all night to figure it out

Baby, if you want, we could roll into town
But I know another road that I’d rather roll down with you
What’s a man gotta do?
To even get a little more close to you
Share a slow dance and a harvest moon
The way that you’re smilin’, it’s got me thinkin’
Maybe you’re feelin’ it too

Are you gonna slide all tight up next to me
Or make me work a little bit harder?
Are you gonna keep that kiss on your pretty red lips
And make me wait a little bit longer?
Ooh, I’ll do anything you want right now
If you don’t know how much I want you, girl
We got all night to figure it out

Are you gonna slide all tight up next to me
Or make me work a little bit harder?
Are you gonna keep that kiss on your pretty red lips
And make me wait a little bit longer?
Ooh, I’ll do anything you want right now
If you don’t know how much I want you, girl
We got all night to figure it out
