Today, Lindsay Ell has made history! Mark April 9th, 2018 on your calendars because Lindsay’s latest single “Criminal” has just hit the number one spot at Canadian country radio.
If you can believe it, this is the first time that a female solo artist from Canada has had a number 1 single since 2008. Let’s just take that in for a minute. A Canadian woman has not had a number 1 single at country radio in a decade… a DECADE!
The sheer craziness of that fact aside, it’s so great to see Lindsay’s name specifically on that chart. Lindsay Ell is so deserving of this. She has been working tirelessly, and is one of the hardest workers in the business.
Here’s what she had to say on Twitter this morning about her first #1 single.
As of this morning, I have my first #1 ever…on Canadian country radio. It’s the first time a solo female artist has had a number one since 2008. Thank you country radio…..thank you to all of you guys for never giving up on me. ??Thank you #Canada!! ??? #Grateful pic.twitter.com/crBqjLKKoZ

In country music, the Front Porch has long been a place of reflection. A place where you can look at the life you have inside that front door. A place where time almost seems to stand still, where you can get away. It’s also a place where you can go to observe the world as it passes by you. To think about your place out there beyond the driveway.
