“Our Lives” is the latest single from Adam Cousins, and the music video for the fresh track is set to drop tomorrow.
If you’re a fan of Adam and just can’t wait, we have great news … you can watch the video a day early, right here on the Front Porch.
“Our Lives” was written with help from fellow artist Owen Riegling, and produced by the CMAOntario nominated Shawn Moore.
The song deliberately strays away from the trappings of the mainstream pop-country sound. Instead, Adam delivers raspy vocals, big guitars, and a strong drum and bass line. The single is tied together by rich country storytelling with a modern rock edge.
“This is the story of first love through the eyes of a young country boy who knows how to properly treat his woman, even though he isn’t even old enough to own his own vehicle,” says Adam. “I want listeners to be able to close their eyes and feel themselves driving down a dirt road in their formative years, falling in love for the first time, and imagining the great moments that lie ahead.”
Born and raised in the small town of Brussels, Ontario, Adam is no stranger to the story of “Our Lives”. He’s since moved to London, Ontario to pursue his musical career.
Adam has rocketed through the industry in the last few years. Starting with a debut EP in 2019, “Dirt Road”, he went on to have regular play on CBC Country and Sirius XM with his 2021 single “Young Again”.
At the same time, Adam has been flexing his live-music muscles across Ontario. He’s previously opened for Manny Blu, and is set to perform at the Hagersville Rocks Music Festival this summer, alongside Aaron Pritchett and Dan Davidson.
“Our Lives” is just the first of three singles Adam plans on releasing during what is sure to be a busy year. It perfectly captures the authentic sound he’s been working on for years.
Adam says “the sound we’ve crafted for this song is a goal that I have been working towards for years. I want to combine timeless storytelling with a production quality that feels dynamic and original – for listeners, it’s something that feels familiar but presented in a way that’s creative.
For my next two tracks, I want to maintain that fresh sensibility that we’ve brought to ‘Our Lives’, while also staying true to the sound and storytelling that I love about classic country music.”
You can also stream “Our Lives” on all digital platforms, but thanks to our exclusive look at the music video, you can also watch it over, and over, and over, and over…
