2022 has gotten off to an explosive start for Saskatchewan-born artist Shantaia. Her newest single, “Broke to Brand New”, is out now.
The track highlights Shantaia’s ability to blend modern country with her signature pop sound.
It’s an anthem about having to pick yourself up out of a slump. Shantaia’s vocals are guaranteed to get stuck in your head from the first few seconds of the song.
“Broke to Brand New” already has almost 150,000 streams on Spotify and is featured on plenty of highlight playlists including “Fresh Finds Country”. Overall, the track has made a massive splash in the country music scene, and has even entered the country radio charts!
In addition to launching the new single, Shantaia is about to be busy on the road too.
She’s touring the East Coast all the way through May as part of the second leg of the “Road Back to Cavendish” concert series. She’s joining one of Canada’s preeminent country bands, The Washboard Union, as they make their way through Nova Scotia, PEI, and New Brunswick. Shantaia’s Road to Success
Shantaia is no stranger to the music industry. She wrote her first song at the age of nine and has been recording music professionally since 13.
Shantaia took a short hiatus from music starting in 2016, but after winning the 2019 SCMA Emerging Artist of the Year award, she burst back onto the scene. Her “comeback” single, “I Wish You Would”, gained over 100,000 streams on Spotify alone in its first month.
She went on to release a follow-up single and subsequent EP in 2020, which was nominated for the Saskatchewan Music Awards Album or EP of the Year award. Her next single ,“Had A Good Weekend”, won Single of the Year for 2021.

Shantaia is currently living in Nashville, Tennessee, working with some of the biggest names in country to bring her music to the next level. She has over 30,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.
