Nova Scotia’s own Mac Rumbolt has officially been crowned the winner of the 2025 Country Rising talent search, presented by Cottage Springs. The news was delivered by none other than The Reklaws, the multi-double-platinum country duo and Country Rising ambassadors.
As part of his prize, Mac will hit the stage at The Kee to Bala, opening back-to-back nights for The Reklaws — a major moment for the rising artist.
“This news means so much more to me than just winning a competition,” said Rumbolt. “It is a representation and proof that if you’re willing to fight through your battles, those rocky roads can lead to the best views.”

A Life-Changing Opportunity
Mac’s big win comes with a record deal with Starseed Records, a $10,000 cash prize, and entry into an extensive artist development program. He’ll receive one-on-one performance coaching, songwriting sessions, a professional studio recording experience, and everything he needs to kickstart a serious career in country music.
He also made an appearance this morning on Breakfast Television, bringing his story — and music — to a national audience.
From Hantsport to the Big Stage
Mac Rumbolt is a singer-songwriter from Hantsport, Nova Scotia. After a devastating accident at age 18 resulted in the amputation of his leg, Mac turned to music as a form of healing. His songs are raw, heartfelt, and fuelled by resilience — something that clearly resonated with the Country Rising judges and audience alike.
