There’s a new name crashing onto Canada’s country rock scene—Pistol Whip The Devil. With their gritty blend of rock swagger and raw, heartfelt storytelling, this Vancouver-based band is carving their own lane with bold sound and undeniable energy.
Their latest single, “The Devil In Me,” is out now on all streaming platforms, and it’s the perfect introduction to this fast-rising group.
A Band Born From Late-Night Jams and a Shared Love of Storytelling
Formed in 2023, Pistol Whip The Devil grew out of a shared love for outlaw country, classic rock, and the kind of music that gets under your skin and stays there. For lead vocalist and guitarist Shane Jolie, it all came together in an unexpected way.
“We started this band because we all had stories to tell, and we wanted to tell them loud,” says Jolie. “There’s something about that mix of country grit and rock ‘n’ roll punch that just felt right. We’d get together, jam late into the night, and the songs started flowing. It was never about chasing a trend—it was about chasing a feeling.”
That feeling has fuelled the band’s first run of singles, including “Welcome To The Show” and “City (with One Red Light),” both of which helped establish their sound: unfiltered, high-voltage, and emotionally grounded.

Lighting Up the Stage—and the Scene
It didn’t take long for Pistol Whip The Devil to build a name locally. Their dynamic live shows have shaken the walls at Vancouver hotspots like The Red Room, The Roxy, and The Rickshaw, earning them a loyal fanbase and buzz that travels beyond city limits. They’ve already shared the stage with Canadian heavy-hitters like Dallas Smith, The Sheepdogs, The Reklaws, and Jojo Mason—an impressive feat for a band just getting started.
“The Devil In Me”: Chaos, Connection, and Country Rock Grit
Their latest release, “The Devil In Me,” captures the chaotic magic of a night lived without rules. Produced by Winston Hauschild at The Treehouse Studio, the track is a pulsing anthem of reckless abandon and fleeting connection.
“This song is about one of those nights where you are out meeting new people, sharing new experiences, doing things you never thought you would do, embracing life and the moment, not caring about consequences, not doubting your next move,” Jolie explains. “It could end good or could end terrible. Who knows? Anything goes!”
With its fierce guitar lines and unstoppable rhythm, “The Devil In Me” sounds like a bar fight and a confession all in one—exactly what fans have come to love about the band.
