Brettyn Rose grew up in Okotoks, Alberta. A very small town girl who enjoys the quiet, she now calls High River home. Just close enough to get to Calgary for gigs, but far enough away from the city to enjoy peace, quiet, and no traffic.
Finding out pretty early that sports weren’t for her, but music was, Brettyn started her music journey sitting at the piano. She began singing, and eventually picked up guitar.
Brettyn released her first single in 2019 and has been an emerging independent artist since, slowly building, releasing singles, and playing live shows.
Brettyn is also a 2025 SiriusXM Top of the Country alumni. Brettyn was nominated Horizon Female Artist and Songwriter of the Year (Wild West), at the Country Music Alberta Awards this year.
We talked about her education, and how it lends itself to music, some of her bucket list items as an artist, West Coast festivals that she’s played and would love to play, and more.

In country music, the Front Porch has long been a place of reflection. A place where you can look at the life you have inside that front door. A place where time almost seems to stand still, where you can get away. It’s also a place where you can go to observe the world as it passes by you. To think about your place out there beyond the driveway.
