JUNO Award winner and frontman for the pop-punk band Stereos, Delta Sweet is making waves with his country music solo debut “Outta Money, Outta Mind” … a fresh blend of ’90s country charm and contemporary production that results in the perfect introduction to a new country audience.
Along with this release, Delta Sweet has released a music video for the song.
A Natural Transition to Country
While some might be surprised by this genre shift, Delta Sweet (aka Patrick Kordyback) has deep roots in country music. His work with Stereos, which earned multiple platinum singles and JUNO nominations, often carried subtle country influences in tracks like “Way Back Home,” “Wild Hearts,” and “Glory Days.”
“Country radio was the soundtrack to every camping trip, lake weekend, bike ride, Slurpee, you name it,” Delta Sweet reflects. “I think the biggest influence this has had on the music I’ve released previously is the fact that I always wanted every song to tell a story. No genre of music can tell a story better than country.”
The New Single “Outta Money, Outta Mind”
Produced by country artist Dan Davidson and accompanied by a CCMA Award winner Travis Nesbitt-directed music video, “Outta Money, Outta Mind” is Sweet’s most countrified release to date. The track combines the storytelling charm of ’90s country with modern production values, creating a hook-driven toe-tapper that pays homage to classic underdog anthems like “Friends in Low Places.”
“I want to establish what I consider to be my sound, and this song is exactly that,” Delta Sweet explains. “When I started writing, I was listening to a lot of the country music I grew up on from the ’90s and before, and I loved how many of the songs had this lighthearted approach to being an underdog.”

What Makes It Work
While the genre may be new territory for Delta Sweet, longtime fans will find familiar elements in his approach to songwriting. His signature melodic hooks and straightforward storytelling remain intact, now enhanced by his growing narrative capabilities under the Delta Sweet moniker.
“My writing style and voice are always me, and that’s what keeps it authentic,” he notes. “I always write melodies first to make sure the songs’ hooks are as strong as possible, and this one is no exception, but I do think I’ve grown in my storytelling ability through Delta Sweet, which just gives it another layer for me.”
Looking Ahead
This isn’t Sweet’s first venture into country territory this year. His recent collaboration with DJ/producer Ashton Adams on “Pour A Little My Way” has already gained traction on prominent American country playlists.
With more new music promised for 2025, Delta Sweet is positioning himself as an artist to watch in the country music scene.
