Organizers of the Rockin’ River Music Fest have made a sad announcement today. The anticipated 2023 festival will not be moving forward. It has been cancelled.
They made the announcement today on social media and their website. The statement reads:
We’ve had the pleasure and honour of producing Rockin’ River Music Fest – bringing country music’s biggest acts to Merritt, BC and creating countless musical memories along the way.
Over time, we have been met with a series of economic obstacles that we tried our best to overcome, but in the end, we have made the decision not to move forward with the festival in 2023.
We want to thank the City of Merritt who has always welcomed us with open arms, the incredible artists, staff and most importantly – you, the fans. Many of whom have been loyal since year one.
We hope to see you again soon!

About The Festival
The Rockin River Music Fest was a popular annual country music festival held in British Columbia, Canada. The festival has been a staple in the music scene for several years, attracting thousands of country music fans from across the region and beyond.
The festival was first launched in 2008, with a lineup that featured some of the biggest names in country. Over the years, the festival has grown in popularity and has attracted a wider range of artists, including up-and-coming acts as well as established performers.
The festival was known for its laid-back atmosphere and picturesque setting, right along the river. In addition to music, the festival also features a variety of food and drink vendors, as well as activities for families and children. Social media is filled with people swimming, and cooling off in the river.
It’s sad to see another festival gone. Hopefully it will be back in the future, but until then … we have the memories.
