Lisa Brokop and Joe Wood to Be Inducted Into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame in 2025

2025 CCMA Hall of Fame Inductees - Lisa Brokop and Joe Wood

Country Music Week in Kelowna will honour two industry legends with Hall of Fame inductions

The Canadian Country Music Association® (CCMA®) has officially announced the 2025 inductees into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame™: beloved country artist Lisa Brokop and influential music executive Joe Wood. Both will be honoured during an exclusive induction ceremony at Country Music Week, taking place September 10–13, 2025, in Kelowna, BC.

“Lisa’s unforgettable voice and artistry have helped shape the sound of Canadian country music for generations, while Joe’s unwavering advocacy for independent artists and visionary leadership have laid the groundwork for so many careers,” said CCMA President Amy Jeninga. “Their induction is a celebration of all they have accomplished and the legacy they continue to build.”

Lisa Brokop: A Voice That’s Defined Generations

Celebrating 35 years in the music industry, Vancouver-born Lisa Brokop has become a pillar of Canadian country music. From her early days performing with her family to a solo career that landed her a record deal with Capitol and Sony/Columbia, Brokop’s journey has been marked by Gold-certified albums, U.S. charting singles, and songwriting credits with icons like Reba McEntire, Pam Tillis, and Terri Clark.

Brokop’s latest project, Who’s Gonna Fill Their Heels?, blends classic country covers with original material, including the powerful title track and fan-favourite “Come Back Bobbie Gentry.” Through touring shows like The Legendary Ladies of Country Music and The Patsy Cline Project, she’s kept the spotlight on country’s female trailblazers.

“What an honour to be chosen to be included in the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame,” Brokop shared. “I feel so grateful and blessed for the career I’ve been given, and I’m truly humbled to be added to the list of all of our Hall of Fame greats!”

Joe Wood: Champion of Canada’s Indie Country Scene

A former touring musician turned record executive, Joe Wood has spent more than four decades advocating for Canadian country artists—especially those in the independent scene. Alongside his wife Trudy, he co-founded RDR Music Group, a company that has helped deliver over 10,000 songs to Canadian radio stations, representing artists like Tenille Townes, Gord Bamford, Michelle Wright, The Reklaws, Ian Tyson, and even Garth Brooks.

Wood was instrumental in launching the CCMA Independent Awards in 1997 and has contributed to Country Music Week for over 20 years through roundtable workshops, jury duties, and mentorship.

“I am honoured to be inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame,” said Wood. “Stan Klees, for whom this award is named, was a close friend and mentor. I know he would be proud, and that means the world to me.”

Now 71, Wood continues to work with emerging artists, proudly noting, “I’ve been lucky to work with two generations of artists – and if I stick around long enough, maybe even their grandkids!”
