Country music fans were treated to an unforgettable moment at the 2024 Churchill Park Music Festival in St. John’s, Newfoundland, on Sunday, August 18. The iconic Shania Twain, headlining the festival, surprised the audience by inviting fellow Canadian artist Alli Walker on stage for a unique collaboration that no one would have seen coming.
Originally from Prince Edward Island and now based in Nashville, Alli Walker brought a slice of her East Coast roots to the festival, playing the electric bagpipes during Shania’s hit “Any Man of Mine.” The powerful blend of bagpipes with one of Shania’s most beloved songs created an electrifying sound that had the crowd excited.

After their performance, Alli took a moment to teach Shania how to play the bagpipes on stage. The playful interaction drew cheers from the crowd, adding an extra layer of excitement to the evening.
Following the bagpipe lesson, Alli taught Shania … and the thousands of fans in attendance … how to sing her single “The Whiskey’s Gone.” Shania and her band eagerly joined in. Joining them on stage were fellow artists Lindsay Ell and Paul Michael, adding their talents to the impromptu performance.

The moment was particularly special for Alli, given her East Coast roots and the cultural significance of bagpipes in the region.
This performance is one for the history books.
