Winnipeg’s very own Brandi Vezina released her latest single “Kiss Mine” last week.
Taking all of her inspiration from wanting to speak her mind and tell people where to go, this outlaw country artist is showing her roots and her passion in “Kiss Mine”.

“I wrote ‘Kiss Mine’ with some of the thoughts and feelings and frustrations I have with some people and experiences. And I thought ‘I just want to tell people, and help people who don’t necessarily have the guts, to say how they feel. I thought my fan base can sing-along to this song especially if it’s something they want to say but they may not have had the words to do it,” Vezina expressed on why she wrote the brand new track.
With her last few singles she released, “Dodged A Bullet” and “Gasoline”, she added more angst in these tracks than what she previously put out. She realized the angst is part of who she is and she will be staying with the outlaw country vibe.
She will be releasing another track closer to the holiday season. Vezina won’t be releasing an album just yet but she will be releasing plenty more tracks in 2024.
Vezina’s musical inspirations are Miranda Lambert, Johnny Cash and The Rolling Stones. She has also been inspired by Megan Moroney and Lainey Wilson as they write their own music. Vezina stated that she will continue to write her own music as she will be able to say what she wants to say and how she wants to say it.
She has a close writing relationship with Styles Haury out of Warner Nashville. She said that she’s been very fortunate to be able to work alongside him. Since she walked into the room with him he took her under his wing and they nail down all the emotions she’s been wanting to get out.
Her listeners have been receiving her music in such a positive way. She’s been having a growing fan base, especially throughout The States!
The message she wants to leave her listeners with is that they can have anything they desire as long as they’re willing to work for it and they realize their own worth. “Everything we want is there for the taking and it’s all within us. We have to have the courage and the guts to go for what we want,” Vezina explained.

Fun fact about Brandi: she’s an animal activist and a vegetarian. Her family comes from a road of different trades. From fishermen to black angus cow farmers, she knew it wasn’t her. She has graduated from her environmental science degree, and said it has been able to connect her more to the earth and animals but also to her experience as a Red River Metis.
