Have you ever bought tickets months in advance, waited in line, and sat through an opening act, just to finally hear that one song live? Jason Benoit perfectly captures that feeling in his new single, “I Wanna Hear That Song.”
Jason Benoit is MusicNL’s Fan’s Choice Entertainer of the Year for 2024, and has earned an ECMA Country Album of the Year for his album Time Traveller.
“I Wanna Hear That Song” Gets Your Toes Tapping
Stepping into the next chapter of his music, Benoit’s latest single delivers an upbeat, catchy tune with some exciting banjo work.
Benoit, who co-wrote “I Wanna Hear That Song” with his friend Gerry Foote, shares that the inspiration came from over a decade of performing.
Benoit says, “”It’s a very profound moment when you hear your favorite song being sung by your favorite artist while you’re in the same room; it creates a memory that lasts forever and you will always look back at that time, who you were with, and what life meant to you, and remember that for a second in time you truly got to experience something both magical and personal with the audience as a whole. It’s truly a beautiful thing.”
John Hynes, who laid down the impressive banjo work, also co-produced “I Wanna Hear That Song” with Jason.
“I Wanna Hear That Song” is more than just a catchy melody, though. It’s a tribute to the fans who make live music magical. Benoit, fresh off winning the 2024 East Coast Music Award for Country Recording of the Year, continues to deliver hits that bring fans together.
If you haven’t heard it yet, you’ll definitely wanna hear this song!

In country music, the Front Porch has long been a place of reflection. A place where you can look at the life you have inside that front door. A place where time almost seems to stand still, where you can get away. It’s also a place where you can go to observe the world as it passes by you. To think about your place out there beyond the driveway.
