[On The Porch S3:E21] “I Was In Therapy Before I Got Dropped” with Lydia Sutherland

Lydia Sutherland cover for On The Porch

Lydia Sutherland has had a whirlwind year – or a few, to say the least.

This year, she released her EP pretty girls don’t cry, has written with some her favourite songwriters – and got dropped from her first major record deal.

Lydia reached out prior to the release of her latest single “Nashville, Nashville” to talk about her year.

In the best place she’s ever been mentally, with a healthy routine, writing the best songs she’s written, losing her record deal turned out to be something she needed.

In country music, the Front Porch has long been a place of reflection. A place where you can look at the life you have inside that front door. A place where time almost seems to stand still, where you can get away. It’s also a place where you can go to observe the world as it passes by you. To think about your place out there beyond the driveway.
